This week was a really busy one! On Wednesday night we had small group at our house ... which was so much fun! I love that we have plenty of room for hosting. ;-) Like usual we ate supper together and then had a time of worship, devotional and prayer together. It seems like we have a lot to pray for amongst out group these days and it is so encouraging to join together in prayer. Pastor Carl wasn't able to join us because he has been suffering from a severe pinched nerve in his neck and has been laid up for the last week. We are also still praying for little Truman. He is doing well at this point with the exception of what might just be some "normal" baby colic! They were blessed this past week to get connected with a Dr. who is a family friend and also a Christian. She has been a tremendous encouragement and blessing to Micah & Krista.
On Saturday we had the chance to be a part of a church youth group activity! A "Mall Hunt" at the mall in Pensacola ... It was a BLAST! The idea was that those of us who had been asked to go in disguise spread out though the mall and pretended to be shoppers. We arrived about 15 minutes ahead of the kids so that we could get inside and split up before they came! The youth were divided into teams and their goal was to find each of us. (There were 9 of us in disguise ... unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the entire group!) Blaine & Sheila Copenhaver and Robert & Michelle Yoder were also a part of the group in disguise. The youth had to ask us a question to "catch" us. 2+2 =? and we were supposed to answer 9! That way they had to work up the courage to stop us.
Chris went shopping at the economy shop for his disguise and ended up going as a "Gangster"! Oh my! He shaved off a lot of his beard and wore baggy jeans and a fake earring! I'll have to say that he looked the part!! He even had the "I can't keep my pants up" walk down! Haha ;-) I'm so glad that he doesn't dress like that all the time! I had trouble figuring out my disguise and ended up just dying my hair a little and wearing glasses and clothes that I wouldn't normally wear! I just knew I was going to get caught but crazily enough I was only caught once!! ;-) It's amazing how nervous you feel walking through the mall trying not to get noticed. Anyway ... we had a lot of fun and enjoyed interacting with the youth group! Oh I forgot to mention that one of Chris's tactics to help him blend into the crowd at the mall was to find a group of similarly dressed "'homies" to hang out with. He actually found 2 groups that agreed to let him walk around with them! He's brave!! I just tried to keep busy "shopping" ;-)
Are you ready for a CRAZY picture! ...
