HOME ... It's amazing that one little word can mean so many things!
It was SO good to be in my Oklahoma home for the past week and a half. It is a place that I find a tremendous amount of comfort and joy in. There is never enough time to truly soak in the blessings of that place. I cherish the time with family and am never ready to leave.
BUT ... there is another place that has become equally my HOME.
It is an "everyday" place. A place for creating new memories and for absorbing the everyday blessings that God has given me.
It is a place that I run back to and find the love and care of a godly husband and the sweet smile of a precious daughter.
This is HOME and my heart is happy!
Ok ;-) ... enough of the sappy blogging! I think the Mom's Night Out movie got in my head. We made it home and Keira and I have been enjoying a relaxed day at home. Our trip yesterday was MUCH more eventful than the trip out! Keira wasn't a very happy camper on both flights. ;-( But thankfully the Lord blessed us with many understanding and gracious passengers and we made it! The funny thing was, whenever the plane would land, Keira would turn on the charm and start smiling at everyone. At least she left a good parting impression!!
When we started to board the plane in Houston we discovered that the plane was overbooked and we had not been assigned a seat! Yikes!! I had completely overlooked the fact that it said "See Agent" on our boarding passes and was really worried when I got to the gate and was told that they didn't have a seat for us!!! THANKFULLY, they asked for volunteers who might be willing to take a flight the next day and offered significant travel and hotel vouchers. A lady took them up on the offer and we had a seat!! Whew! I was not prepared to spend the night in Houston!
We were both REALLY excited to get to Pensacola and find Chris/Daddy waiting for us. ;-) Keira was very happy to see Daddy and you should have seen her kick her feet and smile while he carried her to baggage claim. Wish I would have thought to get a picture!
But ... the day wasn't over! We stopped at Taco Bell real quick before beginning the drive home to feed Keira a bottle and get me a little something to eat. In the shuffle of finding bottle making supplies, I locked our car keys in the trunk!! ;-( Chris handled it very calmly and kindly. He must love me! ;-) After hanging out in a closed Taco Bell for 45 minutes the locksmith arrived and quickly unlocked our car. The biggest blessing of the night was that Keira was exceptionally happy and cheerful during our 45 minute wait!
Needless to say we were SO glad to finally make it home around 11:30.
A good night photo from tonight! We miss you guys and I can tell that Keira is looking for those faces that she has come to love. ;-) Gonna make a family photo album just for her with pictures from our trip. One that she can drool and chew on to her hearts content!
