At Last!

Hello from an absolutely gorgeous Atmore, Alabama!  We have had the most wonderful weather lately and have been taking advantage of it and the prolonged daylight by doing some much needed yard work. ;-)  So much has happened in the past week and I have a bunch of pictures to share with you!

Well, here goes! ;-)  I have so much to post that I think I will just let the pictures do most of the talking this time.

Goodbye! ... after doing a bit of truck shopping, we decided that it would work best for us to go ahead and start trying to sell Chris's car.  We had gotten several "trade-in" estimates and realized that we weren't going to be able to get much of anything that way.  So, we listed it on Craig's list this past Tuesday and immediately started getting text's and phone calls!  A guy came to look at in on Thursday and bought it!!  We feel very blessed to have gotten much more for it than we thought possible and definitely more than we would have gotten trading it in.  In fact we were able to sell it for more than all of our trade-in estimates combined!
God is so GOOD!  Now ... to find the right truck!

We tried the coffee mug cake!!  Here is a picture of my first delightful mug of Oreo cake.  Chris and I have made it several times since. ;-)  It is so easy and amazing that it actually works!  It's gonna take us quite a while to use up all the mix, so you guys might have to help us finish it off when you come visit in July!!

My latest DIY project ... new curtains!  Several weeks ago, I came across this beautiful fabric while shopping at Dirt Cheap here in town.  It started out as a duvet cover but with $10.00, a borrowed sewing machine and two fun evenings of sewing I managed to turn it into two curtain panels.  They will probably end up in one of the spare bedrooms eventually, but for now we are enjoying them in the living room! ;-)

Extra Special Visitors!  We were VERY excited to have Kerry and Kyle at our house this past Wednesday. ;-)  They were on Spring Break in Destin, FL which is only about 2 hours away from us so they took time and came to spend the afternoon and evening with us!  We had a wonderful time catching up and showing them the house.  It felt SO good to have family around our dining room table!!

We also had a Surprise guest visit us last week!

I came home from work one day to find President Obama sitting in the passenger seat of Chris's car!!  Haha ;-) No! Of course he wasn't REAL!  Actually, it was just a life-size cardboard cutout of the President!  Chris came across him in a storage room at one of the banks in town and asked what it would take to be able to bring him home!  The lady looked at him strangely but let him take his new found "treasure" for FREE!  Needless to day we have gotten a lot of mileage out of Mr. Obama!  He is currently residing in our garage so you can meet him when you come visit!

Anyway, enough for now!  Love you guys very much. ;-)
Hannah & Chris too!

  1. Your cake looks better than mine. So glad the car sold so quickly and for the price you needed. Don't know how you can sleep with Mr. O in the garage!
