Hey guys! Hope you had a wonderful Palm Sunday. ;-)
Today was a good one for us. We enjoyed a really good worship service at church this morning and then some delicious Mexican food for lunch at Jaliscos with Chris's mom, Felicia and the kiddos. The kids were too cute today! Daniel talked up a storm about the difference between endangered and extinct animals. I was thoroughly impressed until he told me that pineapples were extinct!! Haha ;-) Jordan was a chatter box as well and kept us laughing with her silly antics! Uncle Chris made the day by winning them both a stuffed animal from the "money eating" game machine! I'm not a big fan of feeding the machine but thankfully he got them on the 1st try!
This week our spare time has been spent working outside! We decided to put the truck search on hold and purchase a lawn mower instead. It kills two birds with one stone! Chris can drive it to work and, of course, use it to mow our yard!!
LOL! ;-) April Fools! I couldn't resist! We WERE blessed to be able to purchase a used John Deere lawn mower from the friend who has been mowing our yard. He owns his own lawn-care business and has upgraded all of his mowers to ZTRs and had this one for sale. I'm so thankful for this solution to our lawncare "problem."
Chris's mom has hired us to take care of her yard for the summer! It will definitely be nice to have the additional income. Looks like I'm gonna get to spend a lot of time on a lawn mower this summer. ;-) Bring on the sun tan!
My project this week has been to remove all the weeds from the back flower bed along the house and get it ready for new landscaping! It is looking much better. ;-) Chris is going to build a wooden walkway from the sidewalk to the water faucet as well as a wooden platform/step onto the back porch. He might even build me a raised bed for a little garden?!! We'll see!
Look what bloomed in our front flowerbed ... despite the dewberry vines that threatened to choke it out! A beautiful red Amaryllis. ;-) Such an amazing flower!
Now, I need you help! We have a small tree growing in our backyard and I'm not sure what it is?! My best guess is an Ornamental Cherry tree. It is blooming right now and has beautiful white blossoms and reddish purple leaves. ;-) What do you think? Any ideas? It needs to be pruned but from what I read it's best to wait till after it's finished blooming.
I bought my plane ticket!! ;-) So excited to have a trip home planned. I will get there on Sat. June 2nd and stay through Wed. Really looking forward to being home for a bit!
We'll, Chris has fallen asleep on the couch so I guess it's time to call it a night! Love you guys! - Hannah
Like the mower. Chris has until cold weather to find something to drive with a cab. Oh wait ...
ReplyDeleteyou don't have cold weather! Don't see why this couldn't fill the bill for his "ride" for years to come. JD's last a long time.
Don't have a clue about the tree but it's pretty. Mom will have to take a look.
Looking forward to your trip home (I mean to OKLA - you ARE home. Love you guys
