We Care President Dave Landis and Chaplain Frank Gossett
I love Frank's smile in this picture! In case you haven't put 2 and 2 together yet let me share some exciting news. ;-) On Wednesday, Frank Gossett (current We Care chaplain and former inmate) had a pardon hearing ... he was granted a full pardon ... PRAISE the LORD!! Now that's something to smile about. ;-)
Another big item of We Care news is Dave's announcement that he will be moving on from We Care Program. He has accepted the call to serve as Overseer of our church conference (Good News Fellowship) and will be transitioning into that role over the next year and a half. This came as quite a surprise to Noreen and I a couple of weeks ago. We came into the office on Monday morning following the recent board meeting and were expecting to hear about how the meeting went and some of the decisions that had been made. We did not realize that this was on the agenda! However, while it seems big at the moment, we know that God has been faithful to provide for We Care in the past and He will continue to do so in the future. Pray for all of the We Care staff as they adjust to this news and for the Board of Directors as they begin the process of finding the man God is preparing to fill Dave's place.
School starts here on Wednesday ... hard to believe the summer is over already! A lot of my teacher/friends were away most of the summer so this past week has been full of catching up and enjoying the final days before they "go back to school" ;-) Saturday, a bunch of us girls went to the beach. We had a wonderful time but I should have spent more time with this little guy under the canopy!! Yeah for a good ole sunburn ;-( This little cutie is Robert & Michelle's baby boy Ethan who was "enjoying" the beach for the first time! He wasn't a fan of the water but took a nice long nap while we soaked up the sun. ;-)
Well, I hope to call and catch up sometime soon. ;-) I'm sure things are busy around there with school starting soon if it hasn't already!
Love ya lots, Hannah
