Love Bugs!

Hey Jonathan!  Mom told me you just finished a bug collection ;-)  Wanted to show you a picture of a bug that we have been seeing thousands of over the past several weeks... no make that MILLIONS!!!  It's "Love Bug" season in Southern Alabama.

It almost feels like one of the plagues out of the Bible!  You never know where you will find love bugs.  They are attracted to light colors and swarm around the windows and doors.  Once they get inside they die so we are constantly vacuuming up dead bugs from the floors and window sills.
They are especially bad on the roads!  At the worst ... it almost seems like it's raining!! YIKES!  This is pretty extreme but a lot of the trucks on the road end up looking like this before long.  The bad thing is ... the paint on your car can actually become damaged from the acid in the bugs.  So you have to keep them washed off!  The best trick so far has been a combination of Mean Green & old Dryer Sheets. ;-)  Thankfully "Love Bug Season" is almost over!

====================================================

IN OTHER NEWS ... we had a ton of rain yesterday evening.  Approximately 4.5 to 5 inches in a little over an hour!!  We got so much rain, so fast that this is what I had to drive through to get home!!  Thoughts of a country road and an old Cutlass came to mind!  Apparently Atmore was built on a swamp so it still has significant flooding problems downtown.  Amazing that so much water could have completely disappeared by this morning!  A lot of the businesses in town had flood damage, including the We Care thrift store.

Mom - Looking forward to hearing about your Roberson "Apple Orchard" field trip! Do you have any pictures?

Love you guys!
Hannah
