Unwelcome Surprise!

It's Thursday night and I'm at home alone after a long day at work!  We are having a staff seminar at We Care which began today and will continue all day tomorrow.  It has been really good so far ... Tim Stauffer is the speaker and he is a licensed Christian counsellor.  He was the dean of students at Rosedale several years before I was there so I remembered seeing him before but don't really know him.  He is speaking on living "The Satisfied Life" ... which stems from identifying our life narratives {good and bad} and examining our emotional responses to those narratives.  I've definitely done more thinking today that I have in a LONG while!!  Very good stuff though. ;-)

Chris is still working in Montgomery.  He was home for Saturday evening and Sunday and then headed back up north.  The weekend was too short!  Hoping he will get to come home tomorrow.

I really missed having him around last night when I had a VERY unpleasant surprise!  I had gotten a delicious looking bunch of grapes from the grocery store yesterday evening to be part of the snack I was planning to serve the kiddos today at We Care.  Last night I decided to go ahead and wash them up so that I wouldn't have to mess with it this morning.  Much to my horror ... I discovered a large BLACK WIDOW SPIDER living inside one of the bunches of grapes!!!!  So glad I saw her before I touched her!  UGH!!

Needless to say ... I did NOT serve the grapes to the kiddos!  I kept some of the grapes in the fridge and I might get brave enough to eat them myself {after another thorough washing of course} ... but I just couldn't bring myself to serve them at snack time today!!

There is no way the spider got in there after I brought the grapes home so unfortunately ... I bought a black widow spider!!  Might be awhile before I buy grapes from that grocery store again!

Well, it's time to have a phone date with my hubby! ;-)  Talk to you guys later!
