Realistic Couponing

This post is dedicated to Family #1 {Kerry, Steven & Me!}

Remember when ... we used to work our "magic" to convince mom to run to Granny's convenience store on the way home from church?! ;-)  We would climb in the car/van with our fingers crossed!  Then in the short 5 mile trip home we would use all of our persuasive tactics to get her to drive past our road to the store for the coveted 2-liter of Pepsi. ;-)  I'm pretty sure we held our breathe until we were past our turn!  A fun memory!!

One of our persuasive tactics was to remind Mom that "she REALLY wanted" to get a Sunday Paper for the coupons inside! ;-)  These memories came flooding back when I picked up our first Sunday Paper from the driveway yesterday morning.  Believe it or not ... I have started couponing!

Not Extreme Couponing like you see on TV, but simple realistic couponing and believe it or not ... it's actually FUN! ;-)  I even made my own file box!  Like mother, like daughter. ;-)  P.S. Haven't dropped it yet ... but I'm sure I will!

If you haven't seen Extreme Couponing on TV check out this YouTube video and prepare to be amazed!  It's actually rather ridiculous and probably exaggerated but inspiring none-the-less!

In addition to the Sunday paper I am finding A LOT of great coupons online. ;-)  Coupons.com is the best site overall ... but I have found that most brands have coupons on their individual websites! For instance, I needed French fried onions for a green bean casserole ... went to the  French's website and BINGO a coupon!!

Almost makes me excited to go grocery shopping!  The biggest challenge is to not let my coupons increase my impulse buying!!  A dollar off on something I don't need ... ISN'T a deal!

Okay, enough, enough!!  If you have any coupon tips send them my way. ;-)

Chris is beginning his second week in a row working out of town.  I'm SO grateful for the Lord's protection while he is away!  It's weeks like these that I'm thankful for the quiet neighborhood that we live in and a Heavenly Father who gives me peace.

Love you guys,

Hannah
